Wellness & Weight Loss Lipotropic Injections

For many individuals who are dieting, it can be challenging to ensure they are getting the proper amount of vitamins and nutrients. Lipotropic injections (often referred to as “skinny shots”) are a way to help the body maintain these vital health components and even stimulate energy levels. It is also believed that lipotropic injections can aid liver function—a healthy liver filters impurities out of the body, which in turn can help with weight loss. A lipotropic solution typically includes a combination of methionine, inositol, choline, and vitamin B12, which offers a way to help break down fat, aid metabolism, enhance heart health, and prevent anemia. A regular schedule of quick lipotropic injections can be a good addition to a standard weight loss plan.

PRP Treatments

PRP therapy harnesses the restorative powers of natural blood components to rejuvenate the skin and address a range of common concerns. PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a component of human blood that is rich with growth factors. By taking a small amount of the patient’s own blood, separating the platelet-rich plasma, and injecting it into areas targeted for aesthetic improvement, PRP therapy can ultimately help the soft tissues regenerate and replenish themselves. This process can be an option for patients looking to enhance skin firmness, diminish signs of wrinkles, improve skin affected by sun damage, discoloration, stretch marks, or mild acne scars, and renew skin tone and texture. PRP therapy has also shown to be an effective treatment for many individuals who are experiencing hair loss.

Microneedling with PRP

A PRP treatment can often provide even more significant rejuvenation when combined with a technique called microneedling. Using a special device, microneedling creates very small perforations (microchannels) in the targeted area of skin to help the skin repair and renew itself. When used in combination with PRP therapy, microneedling allows the platelet-rich plasma more thorough entry into the soft tissues, which can ultimately provide more comprehensive results.

Both PRP therapy and microneedling often yield long-lasting outcomes that can be maintained with occasional follow-up treatments. Dr. Crabtree typically advises patients to undergo three treatment sessions spaced over three months to achieve the best possible effects, depending on individual needs.

PRP for Hair Loss

In addition to its ability to stimulate the skin’s ability to repair and rejuvenate itself, PRP can also activate dormant hair follicles to help both women and men affected by hair loss. This minimally-invasive treatment may be an ideal option for patients who are experiencing early signs of hair loss and areas of thinning hair, offering an alternative to more invasive hair restoration procedures. Individuals who no longer have hair follicles in the targeted areas are not the best candidates for PRP therapy; however, those who have existing but inactive follicles in the area may benefit from this treatment. Dr. Crabtree can evaluate the area of hair loss during the initial consultation to determine whether PRP therapy offers an effective hair restoration option.

LATISSE® for Eyelash Enhancement

Would you like to have longer, thicker, darker eyelashes? LATISSE® is an FDA-approved, prescription-only topical solution designed to effectively stimulate the growth of new eyelashes. The solution can be applied to the upper eyelash areas once daily at home. Over a period of several weeks, LATISSE® can progressively result in the production of darker and thicker eyelashes. This can be a very beneficial treatment for patients who suffer from hypotrichosis (the inadequate growth of hair) in the upper eyelids, as well as for individuals who would like fuller eyelashes without having to rely on daily application of mascara or other makeup products.

LATISSE® typically takes up to 16 weeks of daily application to achieve the best results; if optimal outcomes are achieved before that time, the number of applications can be reduced. However, it is important to note that the upper eyelids will likely return to the state they were in before treatment with LATISSE® if the applications are stopped altogether. Patients with certain types of eye or skin conditions may not be candidates for this treatment. We will evaluate your needs during the initial consultation to determine whether LATISSE® is right for you.

LATISSE® is also part of the Allé aesthetic loyalty program (formerly called “Brilliant Distinctions®”). Membership in this innovative rewards program allows patients to accrue points on certain kinds of non-surgical cosmetic enhancement and surgical procedures that can be used to obtain significant discounts on LATISSE® and other treatment options.
